Genesis is the first book of the Old Testament and also the first book of the entire Bible. The name Genesis literally means “In the Beginning”. It explains the actual events of the origin of life. The first book of the bible describes the Lord God, who is infinite and all-powerful, who creates everything that exists, by the power of His spoken Word, out of nothing. God essentially creates material matter out of nonmaterial nothing.

Genesis introduces key personalities including Adam, Eve, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob, and Joseph. This book was written to record God’s creation of the world and to demonstrate His infinite love for all that He created.
