Beyond the Veil is a festival telling the stories of Women of the Bible-
through the medium and motif of wedding dresses.
It started on Thursday 4th June with an opening celebration addressed by
Helen Cupples from A21 (An anti human-trafficking charity)
Dana Marie Scanlon
and Maud Kells.
Included in the exhibits are wedding gowns from prominent women from Northern Ireland- alongside sculpted dresses from porcelain, wood, patchwork and other media.
Along with staged props and written explanations, the dresses tell the stories of women from the Bible.
There is a special guidebook to help visitors to appreciate the richness of the imagery and take in the impact of the bible stories. In addition guided tours will give even more insight.
Visiting the exhibition is free of charge- but any donations after costs will be split between the charity A21 and the Church Restoration Fund.
We would encourage a donation of £5.00 per person for group visits.
