Weddings

If you live in the area, or have connections with the church, and are considering getting married please feel free to contact the minister or the office.

Our practice is that those who get married in Magheralin Parish are members and regular attenders here, with an understanding of the Gospel and an appreciation of the importance of living our lives in a way that pleases God.  There is an expectation of weekly church attendance and marriage preparation in the year running up to the wedding.

Christian marriage is viewed as:

  • a life long commitment
  • an exclusive commitment
  • the right environment for the nurture and upbringing of children.

All of these are affirmed within a Christian wedding service.

Holding a wedding in the parish church in Magheralin or in St. Saviours Dollingstown requires a minimum donation of £200 – which covers all administrative fees. The requirement of a musician or musicians will incur whatever fee the individual(s) require and is a separate payment.

In certain circumstances, the minister may decide to allow weddings of non-parishioners due to distance or attendance of other churches.  This is not the norm and will only be allowed in exceptional circumstances at a cost of £750.

It is important not to book your venue until the date is confirmed with the parish office and the minister. Having spoken with the minister a request form can be completed here.
